Coaching Camps and participation at Overseas Events

The Chairman SPDC has intimated that attempts for training and assessment of the 470, laser, R:SX sailors have not fructified, and hence participation in overseas events as proposed in the ACTC 2013 -14 are not being progressed. The Chief National Coach will be undertaking an assessment of the above classes during his visit to Mumbai shortly.

Teams will be deputed for overseas events if they meet the laid down criteria to ensure that our athletes train properly and are prepared for performance when we represent India internationally.

On the other end our top ranked boy sailor in the Techno 293 has hurt himself and is unable to train and be prepared for meeting the minimum criteria laid down by the YAI.

The Optimist sailors have been undergoing regular training and will be heading for IODA Asian Championship in March 2014, subject to meeting the laid down criteria by the YAI and Sports Authority of India.

A proposal to conduct a coaching camp for various classes during 10 Jan to 28 Feb 2014 is being progressed with the Sports Authority of India. Details of campers and coaching staff shall be intimated shortly.
