In accordance with guidelines issued in 1975 by the MoYAS, office bearers of National Sports Federations cannot hold office consecutively for more than two terms or eight years, however, there is a flagrant violation of this tenure restriction because of which the government

India sailors won six medals, including three gold,at the 18th Qatar International Regatta ‘Sail the Gulf 2010,’ an five-day event that featured over 180 sailors from 28 countries, which concluded on 20 February 10 at the Doha Sailing Club.

The Haryana government has enhanced the amount of cash prize to sportspersons from the state who win medals in national and international sports competitions.
