Lt Cdr Abhilash Tomy of Indian Navy completed his solo circumnavigation upon his return to his home-town Mumbai, India on the afternoon of 06 April 2013. His accomplishments as both a Indian sailor and now as a solo circumnavigator are being widely praised. He has sailed around 23,100 nautical miles, crossing the Indian, Southern, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. His route, from West to East, took him south of the continents of Australia, South America and Africa, thus rounding the three 'Great Capes' — Cape Leeuwin in Australia, Cape Horn in South America and Cape of Good Hope in Africa.

The 16th Asian Sailing Championships will be held in Incheon, South Korea, from 1 September to 9 September 2013.  The event is being organised by the Korean Sailing Federation, the Asian Sailing Federation, the Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee and the foillowing classes will be competed at the event:

Sail the Gulf - Qatar International Regatta concluded on Saturday 23 February at Doha Sailing Club after a mixed week of light to strong breeze that tested the sailors across eight classes. With variation in conditions throughout the course of the regatta the more experienced competitors shone in the sun with no major upsets.
