The Yachting Association of India is pleased to announce National Championship 2017 from 21 to 25 Dec 2017 at Krishnapatnam (AP).
YAI National Championship for the year 2017, a multiclass ranking event for seniors and youth classes will be held at Krishnapatnam, Nellore (AP) from 21 to 25 Dec 17. The sailing conditions off Krishnapatnam port will offer ideal sailing environment to the best in the country to compete.
The last event saw 228 sailors in senior classes and 108 sailors in youth classes. Record entries are expected for the 2017 National Champioship with heightened interest being generated from the upcoming Asian Sailing Championship and the Asian Games in 2018.

The revised scheme states that a provision of monthly pension of Rs 5000/- per month has been provided to the those yesteryears meritorious sportspersons,now living in indigent circumstances.

Cmde Atul Anand, VSM has taken over as Hon Secretary General YAI from R Admiral Dhiren Vig on 02 Jun 17. While handing over the responsibility after an exceptional tenure of five years, he thanked the Yachting Community for their unstinted support. He also wished all sailors good luck and fair winds.
Cmde Atul Anand carries the experience of having served as the HSG of the federation during 2009 - 2011. On assuming the responsibility, he highlighted that he would work towards ensuring talented yachtspersons of the country are fully supported in a fair and transparent manner by the YAI in order to ensure a podium finish for the country in multiple categories.
