The L&T YAI Junior National Sailing Regatta 2018 kick started today in Chennai with 159 sailors belonging to 16 clubs from across the country assembled to compete in 7 classes. The day began with light winds which slowly picked up as day progressed that enabled the Race Officers to complete 2 races for the day. The patience and enthusiasm of the young sailors was praiseworthy. Kudos to the Race Officials and Jury for managing the show on Day 1 in a busy port with very light winds. Support of enthusiastic volunteers was also noteworthy. Expecting the competition to hot up as days progress.

Indian Naval Sailing Team represented by Lt Cdr K Sai Anand, Rahul Rai CPO, Imo Lemnok CPO, Praveen Kumar PO and Virendra Singh PO won a Bronze medal at the Guangzhou Nansha International Regatta 2018 at Guangzhou City, China. The Championship was conducted in one-design Far East 26 class of boat from 07 to 10 December 2018. The Gold medal was bagged by Hong Kong, while Singapore won the Silver medal.
