Vishnu Sarvanan won a bronze medal for India in a 92 boat fleet at the 9th KFC Langkawi International Regatta Perdana 2012 in Optimist class. The Indian contingent comprised of four sailors selected to represent India at the forthcoming Asian Sailing Championships as well as five others who were self funded.

Racing at the Asian Sailing Championships 2012 gets underway on 17 February through until 25 February 2012. Teams from 24 nations in Asia will gather in Langkawi, Malaysia ready to do battle for the 14 classes in Asian Championship titles. The event is organized by the Malaysia Yachting Association and Asian Sailing Federation.
